T&T U20's Look To Rebound Vs Venezuela.... |

Trinidad and Tobago’s National Under 20 footballers will be aiming to bounce back from a opening match 4-1 defeat to Costa Rica on Saturday when they face off with Venezuela’s National Under 20s today (Monday) in the Puerto La Cruz International U-20 Hexagonal. T&T playing against the Costa Rican team that has also qualified for the FIFA Under 20 World Championship in Egypt in September, fell behind in the third minute when Jose Mena put the Central Americans ahead. But skipper Leston Paul leveled the scores for T&T with an 8th minute item But T&T then drop their guards and conceded in quick succession within seven minutes. Goals by Marco Urena (13th), Diego Madrigal (15th) and Alejandro Castro (20th) pushed Costa Rica to a 4-1 lead before half time and the scores remained that way at the end. Defender Akeem Adams was red carded in the 80th minute. T&T will face Venezuela today (Monday) and then Paraguay on Wednesday. They then face Venezuela’s B team on Friday before closing off the tournament against Brazil on Sunday. Brazil trounced Venezuela 6-1 on Saturday. Egypt pulled out of the tournament which allowed Venezuela to field a second team.
