Minister Conrad Says No Worries For Trinidad And Tobago.
November 10th 2008.

Energy Minister Conrad Enill disputes statements that this country could encounter hard times in the fallout from the energy policies of U.S. President-Elect Barack Obama.

Yesterday Economist Dhanayshar Mahabir said Trinidad and Tobago would eventually feel the impact of Obama’s Energy Policy which stressed the use of alternative energy sources, including clean-burning coal to wean the U.S. off foreign oil.

But Mr. Enill says Obama’s policy was long-term.

He says even if there was a fall in demand from the U.S., there was unsatisfied demand from China, India and Trinidad and Tobago that could look to those markets.
