A man found guilty of buggering an 8 year-old boy has been sent to jail for two life sentences.

48 year-old Azard Ali was already serving a 12 year sentence for sexually assaulting the boy’s 12 year-old sister 7 years ago.

In passing sentence yesterday Justice Gillian Lucky ordered that Mr. Ali not be released from prison before 15 years have elapsed.

Justice Lucky said the sentence is meant to show society’s abhorrence of sex crimes committed against children.

A 9 member jury was told that the boy was catching fish at a river close to his home in 2001, when Mr. Ali walked up to him, grabbed him, took him to his house and sexually assaulted him.

The boy was then warned against telling anyone about it.

Mr. Ali threatened to kill him if he did.
