Major Floods In Parts Of The West. |

Several areas have been under water over the past 24 hours, and the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management is promising help to those affected.
The ODPM lists among the affected areas, Big Yard, Carenage, Manning Street in Diego Martin, and Cucker Valley, Chaguaramas.
Goodwood Gardens and Farfan Street in Diego Martin have reported floods as well.
Up to late yesterday, Raymond Street, Carenage, Apple Blossom Avenue in Petit Valley, Crystal Stream, Victoria Gardens and Factory Road in Diego Martin were said to be flooded.
The ODPM confirms that there have also been landslides in L’anse Mitan and La Horquette Valley Road, Glencoe.
Speaking with Newscenter 5 yesterday, Public Information Specialist, Dike Noel said help was underway.
In a late night bulletin the ODPM said the landslides were cleared.
The ODPM says hampers with the relevant and necessary food items were distributed to the families in need.
And teams from the Diego Martin Regional Corporation and workers from the CEPEP have been assisting in cleaning up the areas worst affected by the rains yesterday.
