'Prophetess' Was In PM's Company In 2006. |
March 9th, 2010.
Prime Minister Patrick Manning’s spiritual adviser, Juliana Pena, was in his company on April 23, 2006, at a service at the Calvary Revival Centre at Chase Village, Chaguanas.
Rev Pena spoke at the service, which was held a few days before the Benny Hinn Crusade.
The Express on Sunday published an exclusive photo of Pena as a teenager and today brings you other exclusive photos of Pena, now in her 60s, at the service in 2006, which was attended by Manning and presided over by Pastor Levi Duncan of the church.
Pena has been linked to the controversial Lighthouse of the Lord Jesus Christ church, which was granted State lands at the Heights of Guanapo, Arima, to build.
Pena, who describes herself as a ’prophetess’, has been hailed by her family and friends as a gifted woman who has healing powers and clairvoyance.
For the past year, she has been preaching the word of God every Sunday at the Arima Girls’ RC school, where she leads a congregation of loyalists who followed her after she parted ways with the church-Jesus the Light of this World Ministries-also located at the Heights of Guanapo.
There is now a split in this church, from which the multi-million-dollar Lighthouse of Jesus Christ, being constructed by the Shanghai Construction Ltd, has emerged.
Pena, who is named as the director of the church, has not been seen in public since the controversy erupted.
Manning, in a statement to the Parliament on February 26, said the church does not belong to him and charged that the attention the church has generated was religious persecution.
Pastor Levi Duncan, who delivered a sermon at the service in 2006, prayed that Manning would continue to fight against the evil forces during his term in pulling the country out of its state of darkness.
’You will accomplish great things ... it will not be easy.
But I have watched you during these, watched the faith which you have exercised, and the love and the courage, you are the one who will lead this country to righteousness,’ he said.
Duncan told Manning: ’I recall that you once said that should you ever give up the post of prime minister, you would turn to the ministries (church).
Some people when they hold on to something, they want to die with it ... not him (referring to Manning).
The message of God is so implanted in you that you cannot help but know that God comes first.’
