MATT Agrees With Imbert |
March 17th, 2010.
The Media Association says it agrees with Works and Transport Minister, wholeheartedly with his suggestion that the Media have every right to publish whatever they want, as they are an independent institution.
MATT says it is hard to comment on Minister Colm Imbert’s remarks because they are so vague.
Minister Imbert has been quoted as saying that the Media have not been balanced in reporting everything.
He also said that the Media should say on which side of the political fence they sit.
MATT says, surely Minister Imbert does not believe that every journalist, in every Media House in the country is Anti-Government.
The Association says Mr. Imbert must be aware that it is common in any democratic country that Governments and the Media in general do not see eye to eye.
It says this diversity of views makes it a vital sign of a healthy democracy.
