...about the circumstances that led to his stroke.
Former Prime Minister, Patrick Manning left today for Washington where he will continue treatment for the stroke he suffered on January 24th. Mr. Manning and his wife Hazel left the San Fernando General Hospital via air ambulance during the early hours of this morning. But now his sister, Dr. Petronella Manning-Alleyne is questioning the circumstances surrounding his illness. Dr. Manning-Alleyne told a news conference earlier that her brother’s value was extremely low, even though he was taking medication. But she said the quality of the medication is now in question. Dr. Manning-Alleyne said the country has to be extremely careful about the sources used to get some medication. She said Mr. Manning’s treatment before the stroke was good over the years, but it fell short in early January 2012. She wants to know why the monitoring of his condition was not done in a timely manner. Dr. Manning-Alleyne said the results of tests done on the former Prime Minister were three weeks late. She said they came after he had the stroke.
